Our Mission

Mississippi State’s Office of Civil Rights Compliance (OCRC) is charged with ensuring that the university meets the letter and spirit of laws prohibiting discrimination, harassment, and retaliation. These include Title IX, the Americans with Disabilities Act, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, and many others.

We work diligently to ensure that MSU continues to be a fair and welcoming place for students, faculty, staff, and guests of all backgrounds. Our work includes investigation and remediation of possible violations, policymaking and advising, and training on civil rights matters.

We also are the university’s central point of contact for questions or concerns about civil rights-related issues. We are glad to advise any member of the MSU community on applicable laws and regulations and/or best practices with respect to civil rights compliance. Our office can be reached at 662-325-5839 or at titleix@msstate.edu
